Bringing order to chaos

Groups are constantly changing their function and purpose. Groups can drop performance owing to:
1. Sometimes a leader is so wrapped up in administration responsibilities and reaching targets that he/she is totally unaware of the collapse of relationships and trust in his/her team. The levels of stress prevalent in this situation can cost the business loss of clients, staff and money

2. Normal day to day operations can drift away from business goals if the group is in conflict and there is no motivation.

3. Poor leadership, lack of inspiring vision and lack of communication can disrupt and block the functioning of a group

4. Lack of respect, bullying, poor relationships, power struggles and lack of leadership skills will lead to extremely disruptive groups and are hot buttons difficult to control

Groups need to be able to adapt to external influences and within the group itself. People change, opinions change, conflicts occur, all of these require group flexibility and social understanding. There is always a reason as to why a group is not effective as a team. Through facilitation the reasons can be identified. Encouragement of new behaviors can be shared in a group context wherein all take responsibility for the change.
