Overall Project Manager : CoT 2010 PMO
It was through the eyes of the children that we were inspired to climb mountains and plant their flag for a future with hope and love and joy .– In the end it was, after all - their legacy!!
IT WAS A “WHOOOOOSH” EXPERIENCE, 8 MONTHS AND THEN 30 DAYS OF 24 HOURS ON DUTY, HOW PROUD WE WERE TO BE A “HANDS ON” PART OF THE 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP
De Oranje campers in Tshwane
Dutch Supporteers – De oranje campers
Eish !! – Forever friends – huge, huge organisation to pull this event together – 700 “ alle very happy” campers and 400 “ alle very happy” orange mensies came back for the final match – now which country can beat the ‘Hollanders” for knowing how to party, how to march and team loyality – nou ja – tribute to the “ groot span” involved – WE LOVE ORANGE!!!! Aiyoba moment in action!!

Tshwane U12 Football Legacy Programme & Mayoral Cup
A City of Tshwane project that reached over 3000 children. The project ran from February through to the Mayoral Cup in May 2010. Every event, meeting and briefing was opened with prayer and “yes”- “nothing is impossible for God” – the success of this project had “inspirational” and “courageous” leadership that pushed forward no matter how many obstacles & challenges there were. We pay tribute to all those in the team that led and drove this programme, it was a journey we will treasure for eternity

TSHWANE FAN FEST VOLUNTEERS
30 DAYS NON STOP THEY CAME IN TEAMS TO GIVE THEIR HEARTS AND SOUL TO SUPPORT THEIR CITY AND THEIR COUNTRY – YOUNG PEOPLE WITH A PASSION FOR LIFE AND TRUE AMBASSADORS FOR THEIR COUNTRY – IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER

ARTS & CRAFTS SELECTIONS –
Let there never be doubt how talented South Africans are – it was mind blowing!!!!

WHAT FEEDBACK DID WE GET…
We cannot take personal credit for any feedback as everything we managed was part of a whole integrated team. We do know though, that we contributed and did a sterling job. We were a “behind the scenes” part of the massive team machinery that led to the 2010 success story in the City of Tshwane.
It was a unimaginable emotional drive to take one more step when everything around you said “you cannot do anymore” and yet you did! We pay tribute to every person we worked with.
OVER AND OUT
So what did I learn:-
• That a working team with the same vision can perform and deliver way beyond expectation
• How to swear in nine different languages with one word
• How to “NOT SLEEP” – for 30 days
• Haaibo ! – what can ever compare
• That everyone was walking on the edge of a cliff but no one fell off cause everyone was holding on to everyone
• That “soccer” is way bigger than peanut & butter & jelly & Oprah – ja nee Boet !!
• That being neurotic was perfectly normal and those that were calm where probably on Prozak ………..my psychiatrist said all I spoke about was chickens, busses and soccer balls – so I am sharing my story as it is “good” to off load and journal….roll on 2011 – Dixie Bay is ready to rock……
